Theoretical investigation of the inverse Faraday effect via a stimulated Raman scattering process

چکیده
We study theoretically the origin and mechanism of the ultrafast inverse Faraday effect, which is a magnetooptical effect, attracting much interest nowadays. Laser-induced subpicosecond spin dynamics in hydrogenlike systems and isolated many-electron atoms are investigated in order to get insight into this process. We show that the stimulated Raman scattering process leads to a change of the magnetic state of a system. We obtain the time evolution of the induced magnetization, its dependencies on laser properties, and the connection with the spin-orbit coupling of a system.

Investigation of Scalar Modulation Instability in the Presence of Raman Scattering in Photonic Crystal Fibers
In this paper, by including Raman scattering in the coupled-mode equations, the scalar modulation instability in photonic crystal fibers is investigated. The evolution of the pump, Stokes and anti-Stokes waves along the fiber as well as the conversion efficiency for two cases, with and without Raman effect, are studied. The effect of anti-Stokes seed and the pump depletion on the evolution of S...
متن کاملComprehensive Theoretical Study on Threshold Power of Stimulated Brillouin Scattering in Single-Mode Fibers
We have investigated and developed a theoretical approach to explore stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) phenomena in single mode fiber. SBS happening threshold power condition has been studied in terms of fiber parameters and input pump power. To assess threshold power precisely, the pump depletion effect and fiber loss has been included by employing 1% criterion. The threshold exponential g...
متن کاملMagnetization dynamics in dysprosium orthoferrites via the inverse Faraday effect
The ultrafast nonthermal control of magnetization has recently become feasible in canted antiferromagnets through photomagnetic instantaneous pulses A. V. Kimel et al., Nature 435, 655 2005 . In this experiment, circularly polarized femtosecond laser pulses set up a strong magnetic field along the wave vector of the radiation through the inverse Faraday effect, thereby exciting nonthermally the...

The transmission characteristics of a Raman-amplified atomic filter that can be used to detect fairly weak signals in free-space quantum-key distribution or laser communications are analyzed and discussed in the coherent and incoherent pump fields respectively. The theoretical model for the calculation of the transmission characteristics of a groundstate Raman-amplified Faraday dispersion atomi...
متن کاملSpectroscopy, Structural, and Optical Investigations of NiFe2O4 Ferrite
Ni ferrite crystalline material is synthesized using a sol-gel method at two different temperatures. The vibrational and stretching modes, crystalline phase, size distribution and morphology of the products are investigated via Raman back-scattering and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, XRD and FESEM, respectively. Vibrational modes of spinel ferrite are observed at Raman and FTIR...
